Interesting

It was rather interesting to see on the TV this morning that our single aged pensioners receive the least amount of pension than all other OECD countries. No wonder we are struggling, but we still won't get any help until after the review - maybe in next year's budget. Heard figures bandied about of a $30 per week increase costing the government in excess of 1 billion dollars to implement. Also that approx 85% of all pensioners received the full pension.

One Billion dollars sounds a lot until you consider (and I completely forgot about) the $22 BILLION the Federal govt is just sitting on, I presume to pay companies in this pipe-dream ETS, and to clean up their act.

Anyone want to have a small wager Young Kev will throw millions more the way of our sports people so they can win some more gold next time around?? So he and his wife can have their photos taken with them.

I do believe Iould lose if I took a bet on that

I Would lose

I should learn to read before I press send !!!!!

Julia Gillard excelled herself in a press stop last night. "We haven't ignored seniors - we gave them the $500 bonus and increased the utilities allowance to $125 per quarter - that's $1000."
