I can travel light but never without this item for the bed

We’re travelling again and ain’t it grand! I’m even learning to travel with just a carry-on bag. But there’s one item I’d never leave behind. Fortunately it doesn’t take up much room.

If I could, I’d actually take my pillow – and I do if we’re travelling by car. But I always take a pillowcase if we’re flying.

The thought of putting my head on a pillow that may have recently soaked up some bodily fluids makes me shudder. Especially in these COVID days.

How do resorts and motels clean pillows? Do you know? Do you pack a pillowcase? What else do you consider essential when you’re travelling?

Therefore you are automatically not travelling light !!

If you're paranoid about the resort, motel or hotel not cleaning the pillowcases (which I'm not), then you should also be worried about the mattress/sheets that also could have been recently soaked by some bodily fluids. If you're going to take a pillow and pillowcase for that reason, then for the same reason you should also be taking a mattress and sheets.

How do resorts and motels clean pillows? I don't know, but I'd imagine it would be harder to clean a mattress.

A friend of mine traveled to La Paz in South America for a wedding. She stayed at a Motel and said she always takes those foil type covers and her own sheets.  She puts foil cover over the mattress and then her sheet over it., then another of her sheets to cover herself. She also takes her own pillowcase with the foil cover over the pillow supplied.

I always take my pillow and pillow case because I have a bad neck and most hotel pillows are too big and overfilled
