That is great.

I got myself a digital TV awhile back and was amazed that I could actually see the cricket ball in the air.

Sure beats the old snowy one ;-P

We have had pay t.v. twice before and got rid of it but now but Peter cannot watch his footy without it every Saturday

and like you we love the Tennis and Cricket and in fact most sports. If they put AFL back on free to air we would give pay away again. We do enjoy UK t.v. and sometimes get to see a good movie. but it really is not great value for money.

We only pay $29.95 a month for our wireless broadband and walk around the corner to pay it each month which suits us fine.

We have teles. all over 5 years old now and going really well but the big Plasma and LED's look good but maybe New Year's Day they may be even cheaper. We almost bought a 50inch Panasonic with 3 stars with HD. (not full H.D.) for just $1,300 at Retravision which was $500 cheaper than Harvey Norman for the exact one and they are advertising like crazy. It just goes to prove it pays to go everywhere before we buy.

:ahhh: Phyl, I got an LG 42 in LED HD with 3yr warranty for $1035 from Good Guys. Actually I got the Quote from good guys, then took it my local RT>Edwards and they matched it. Apparently these are more economical on electricity, my daughter and husband feel I did well on the purchase.

Get the FULL HD Phyl --and in a short time they will also have 3D TV--won't that be great

Darn; typed a long post and it went into cyber space. No worries bit of extra penance for my sins :)

Do you know if 3D is coming to a place near us soon? and moreso will you, and everyone else who have

the newer teles. already, be able to receive 3D? or is it a complete change of tele. (surely not)



We have 2 x 32inch/80cm which are not that old but will be obsolete in the near future albeit they are quite good teles.

(We also have a tele. in all the other rooms lol as we do love our tele).



Off to look arond all the Oppys. today trying to buy huge wire hanging baskets as they are not available anymore in any of the places we have been looking (small ones and plastic ones are) We are the lucky owners of 3 huge bird baths from an old mansion and just $120 each but very very heavy made of decorated concrete (no not our old mansion mores the pity) lol. We do not want to drill holes in them at this stage but because of water logging want to be able to lift the big baskets full of trailing roses and Pelargoniums (once we get them all in) out to drain. We bought such lovely stuff at the Sale market yesterday and other markets previously all waiting to be planted.

Always something to look forward to so today will be great fun.

On the full HD you ar able to get more channels--and yes I think you will need to get --yet another TV for the 3D--but maybe 1 or 2 years down the track--they are showing them NOW in the show they are having in Japan--the Panasonic full Viera TV Plasma is a good one Phyl

Hi Phyl, you can get a set top box that will work a non digital tele. I have one and it does work giving all the hd channels, but it seems that the cables from the antenna need to be stronger. Gosh this is so beyond me, wish I had a son closer to home to put me right.. Muddling along though quite well.

I have a set top box in the bedroom--on and ordinary CRT TV and it works fine--

We have a standard Set Top box as this is what we were advised to buy some time back but we do get the smaller pic. so lose top and bottom somewhat. Sometimes do not get some sub titles either.
