It might have been someone else who prompted me to recommend a book called 7 Daughters of Eve, which, while heavy going in parts for the non academic types like me, is a great read.

Through the amazing technology related to DNA, a theory has been developed, that through mitochondrial DNA, which is only carried down through the female of our species, the entire human species can be tracked back to one woman.

Sorry, Clay, I meant the title :7 Daughters of Eve, is kind of a play on the original Eve. The book is a serious scientifically based book and very interesting.
