How to use Evernote to best manage life in retirement

Hi everybody

I just discovered Evernote and it seems beaut.

Do you use this to manage your life?

I'm sad to say my memory is not what it was but this might solve my problems as anything can be transferred to its Inbox and from there saved to notebooks plus anything in notebook can be tagged many times so that it can be simply recalled.

My problem is that I need some sort of template to follow and wonder what you find best?

The notebooks could be for anything and the entries can be tagged but how best to set up is my problem.

Appreciate your help,

Peter

I use Evernote as a journal and task manager.  I have a template set up for the journal (More ... Save as Template) with headings, which include:  Activities, Tasks, Exercise, Learning, Health, Diet, Do Better.  Each morning I create a new note for the day using the template, and then fill it in during the day.

I also create tasks from within the daily note (Insert - Task) as I think of them, and then check them off in Tasks.

I also use Evernote to take notes in webinars.

I plan to use Evernote when I start researching family history again, with a new note for each ancestor.

I hope this helps

Thanks very much

kind regards

peter

Interesting, I must look into it.

OneNote from Microsoft is a very similar program and is the one I use for keeping stuff I find and want to refer back to.

Also use it for family history research.  Better than scraps of paper all over my desk!

Yep, I use OneNote too, but I have a reliable desk diary also as a backup

In one note do you use templates or just load notes to search - was hoping to get some idea of how to put all the info together

I use Evernote for reminders, tasks, saving recipes, scanned docs, potential purchases, measurements, etc.,  but one of the best uses was to take a photo of current medications (with a note under photo if relevant), so that I have access to details of my current medications when asked for details.  It is easy to edit the note when new medications are added or medications stopped and strengths adjusted.  So much easier when completing forms at medical appointments.  Evernote is synced to my computer, mobile phone and tablet so I have access to all my notes in multiple situations.

you must be an expert and i am just starting but it looks a great program to store all those things i just put down and it vanishes

i can scan it or photograph it and now even tag it so the wife and i will not be lost again - touch wood

any clues you can pass on would be valued

kind regards.  peter

became a searcher, wanting to discover who i was and what made me precise. my view of myself turned into changing. i desired a stable base to start from. i commenced to resist3 stress to behave in ways that i didn’t like any greater, and i used to be delighted by who i in reality become. i got here to feel a good deal extra sure that no one can ever take my region.

1. Make lists for things to do, items to buy, and more
2. Scan and save billing statements, payment confirmations, and receipts
3. Snap photos of restockable household items
4. Clip blog posts, news articles, and cooking recipes
5. Save PDF contracts and documents
6. Share important information with family and friends

thanks - this how we would like to use it as well

do you make notebooks and then files - then stack relevant notebooks

kind regards peter

I organise notes into notebooks for different topics and then stack my notebooks.  I haven't used tags much - that's the next challenge.

Thank you so much..  spicemoneylogin.in
