How to make a ring from a coin

making a ring from a coin

I spotted this video about how to make a ring from a coin, using tools most fellas would have in their toolbox. Now, this person makes it look easy, but it goes without saying that you should take extra care when using power tools should you take on a project such as this.

What do you think? It could make for a nice DIY present, or even a side business of sorts? Have you ever done anything such as this?

Leon,

If you look up   https://www.ramint.gov.au/using-coin-designs

you will discover that it is ILLEGAL   in Australia to deface our coinage.  This action will get you a $5,000 fine and/or 2 years imprisonment.

Awwwww Sandi, you shouldn't have said anything, would have loved to see some of the trouble makers spending a coupla years in the slammer!

                 .

Yes, so would I.  Had a few thoughts around the same topic myself.

LOL

Drill out a brass nut....it's cheaper and saves 2 years in prison

It's also illegal to deface our foldin', like drawing a moustache on the Queen, a beard on Mary Reibey, glasses on Edith Cowan, etc.

Apart from the fact the Government can fine/jail you the Artist who provided the design holds Copyright  would also be allowed to sue you(probably).

Gee after watching a bit of that I couldn't be fussed -- and our coins aren't gold in any case so just go and buy an elcheapo ring
