How state and territory governments have extended your life by eight months

Australian National University (ANU) research suggests the nation's fast response to the initial phase of the COVID-19 had a positive effect on life expectancy.

The ANU estimates that Australians' collective longevity increased by about 0.7 years in 2020 due to border closures, lockdowns and other measures.

Considering the average annual increase in longevity of 0.09 to 0.14 years between 2015 and 2019, and you can see why this is a big deal.

Study co-author Vladimir Canudas-Romo says that pandemic measures also resulted in a significant drop in the number of deaths from other infections such as pneumonia and flu.

COuld you have imagined that these measures would have such a huge effect on our longevity? Does this justify the actions of our state and territory governments?

Don't worry the LNP's let it rip plan will reverse this trend.

Haven't the Universities got anything better to do with their funds from the taxpayers?

Yes Celia, there are more important things to spend taxpayers money on. There was a comprehensive study undertaken by an Australian university (I won't embarrass it by naming it) with a grant of $35,000 to study the quickest, cheapest and easiest way to chill beer. Seriously, the grantee bought a refrigerator, Eskys, ice and copious cartons of beer. He spent all of the grant, wrote his report which showed that ice in an Esky is the quickest, cheapest and easiest way to chill beer. Who knew?

Seriously I wish some Medical Professor would study the effects of Histamines on the human body;   I have been tested for reactions to Histamine and the doctor says I am not only have an sensitivity to Histamines but an allergy;   with this in mind I want to know how to be treated as Histamines are putting my blood pressure up.   The same specialist says he doesn't know how to treat this reaction.

Recently I have had the issue with strawberries and grapes;  this morning I woke up from a deep sleep with high blood pressure and the only thing I can think of is potato chips with a lot of salt in, so I took Telfast 180 and down comes the blood pressure after forty minutes, but only to 130.   I guess that is better than nothing.  I feel I am walking on egg shells these days.

It has made me think of how many other people may be having the same reaction to Histamine and are having strokes also perhaps a lot worse than I am.   I say this as when I was in hospital last June there were many people coming in having had strokes, there has to be an answer to this?

How many of us in life have to suffer from this terrible reaction?

I know that those that have not suffered from this think I must be mad, but it is a real issue, otherwise why do they make this antihistamine tablet?     Perhaps only for those that have a sensitivity;  not for those with allergies.

Something sure needs to be done about this before too many of us die.
