Safety investigations & reports (atsb.gov.au)

Wow, now that was one lucky escape for the passengers and pilot.  No way would you get me into one of those little planes, I have enough problems getting into a 747.

Why?  Is the doorway too small?

You'd have a problem because your head is too big.

Has there been an interview with the pilot by this news service?  I doubt very much that the pilot was frightened.  When the pilot has an inflight emergency, they do not have time to be frightened.  They have an airplane to fly and that can get very busy.  It is a Mexican registered plane and was either on a charter or a private flight.  Not exactly a situation that the average person would encounter.

As it stands, no one was either killed or seriously injured and the plane, while an insurance write off, is recoverable and will probably fly again.

The crash is certainly no reason for anyone contemplating taking a trip by regular scheduled air lines to be in any way concerned about their safety.

By the headline I was expecting the story to be about why does NSW still require everyone flying over that State to still wear a mask while in the plane?

Emirates airline jet flies for 14 hours with a HOLE in its side after passengers heading to Australia heard a loud bang on take-offEmirates airline jet flies for 14 hours with a HOLE in its side

The Airbus A380 took off from Emirates' main hub in Dubai on July 1 and landed at night, but pilots reported an surprising discovery when they got there. Passengers reported hearing a  loud bang while they were flying over the ocean on the way to Australia. But the airline decded to continue on anyway for another 13.5 hours, contacting Air Traffic Control at Brisbane Airport shortly before landing to report that they suspected they had blown a tyre on take-off.

Not good Celia.

Looking at the chaos at Sydney airport yesterday, who would want to travel by air at the moment.
