How did Johnson get the job in the first place?
Boris Johnson has resigned from the UK prime ministership, and you have to wonder how he got there in the first place.
He’s always seemed a bit of a loose cannon, better known for his stunts, outrageous pronouncements, crazy hair and complicated personal life (the number of children he has is still up for debate) than his statesmanship or legacy of public service.
A former employer Max Hastings described him as “unfit for national office”.
Mr Hastings warned in 2019: “His premiership will almost certainly reveal a contempt for rules, precedent, order and stability.”
The first crack in Johnson’s downfall though was his habit of hosting parties while the rest of the country was in lockdown.
Not only was it what I suppose the English call ‘poor form’ it was illegal and his lies to cover it up only made it worse.
He lost the confidence of his peers and eventually the top job.
If Johnson was the height of style over substance, give me a worthy but dull PM any day.
They celebrated when he was kicked out of the post of Lord Mayor of London, next minute they vote him in to the top job of Prime Minister of England. More proof of the degeneration of society, not only in England but throughout the world. It is my view that people in politics throughout the world should have to apply for the job and go through a stringent application process, as you would in any other business. They should not be given these jobs simply because they're voted for by the idiot in the street, who has absolutely no idea of who these people are, if they have any qualifications for the job, what they've done in past and what their personality and true beliefs are. These leeches, who in question time, swear and curse each other and 5 minutes later, go into the taxpayer subsidised dining room together, have a five course meal with free-flowing expensive wines etc, for next to nothing and discuss how well they performed on the day. What a joke. Had enough, Jacka
