Healthy pizza bases but really good and cheap

The ingredients are plain/natural youghurt (no flavours) and self raising flour. Use 1 quantity yoghurt to 2 quantities flour. EG 1 cup youghurt and 2 cups SR flour.  I used the container as my measuring cup.

Mix together, then wrap the dough in clingwrap. Rest on the bench for about half an hour. You then roll it out and top with whatever you like on pizza! Cook as you would any pizza. I cook ours on 180deg.

Wow Phyl!!!

tha sur eis nice pastry

Going to give that a try does it work with low fat yoghurt?

Are you just placating me Abby? Feelin sorry for poor Phyl. because nobody wants to respond to my post? Not a cracker zilch nobody wanted to even say "well done Phyl. and the pastry is SO good....low calorie.....and very cheap......Woe is me.

SO sad   I am off to bed to  listen to 3aw nightline. hurrumph.

Sorry Vivity I did not see you post. NO has to be the real McCoy full fat yoghurt sorry.

Did you folks realise the most amazing creamy like ice cream stuff is the real yoghurt put into a strainer for an hour or two to get the whey out and then scoop it like ice cream and have anything as topping on it even just honey is nice. So healthy and yum.

and use the whey for a lowfat milk shake in skim milk with flavouring.

Ain't life grande? sure is.

See you all tomorrow for more fun and excitement. Yippee no mammogram for another 2 years *I hope anyway.

What do you usually use for topping Phyl ?

Abby Vegemite would be good as it is supposed to help prevent Alzheimers. I like healthy but could not eat that Pizza regardless Vegemite on toast is nice.

...

My VERY fav. is chocolate pizza.  Just for special occasions though.

Did you all know you can make chocolate crackles with Coconut Oil? FANTASTIC hey? just have to have enough self control to eat a small amount each day but VERY yum.

..

Oops MOST unusual but I went off topic (ouch eggs hurt I keep saying). Abby we do not like tomato paste as a bit tart (I make a fantastic spag. Bol. with a can of tomato soup instead of paste) so I use a lot of bacon and even eggs and meat balls are great and plenty of good melting cheeses. Prawns are lovely on pizza also. The ones in the packet from Coles are deveined - how good is that?

..

I made an apple crumble pizza some time back and with a bit of cream it was lovely. We like sweets but know many just think savoury with pizzza but you can use anything really.

Arn't Tuesdays lovely and they come around once a week so have a lovely day peeps.

Prawns are my favourites too :)

Just love the sound of the apple crumble Pizza

p

Seggie. I just love food.

I usually use pitta bread as my base for my home made pizzas bit will try your recipe Phyl.

The other day I had some left over roast veg so I chopped them up a bit smaller put them with some small tiny tim tomatoes all over the pizza, added some chopped lightly cooke chorizo sausage and sprinkled with low fat cheese.   It was just so nice.

Friend told me to sprinkle my roast veges with Moroccan seasoning and I had done that so they had this extra nice taste to them.

Today I am having a pizza for lunch...have some left over spinach and tomato and will add spring onions, capsicum, celery and the chorizo sausage and a light sprinkling of low fat cheese.

On the base I use my home made tomato paste.

The base is reasonably heathy but be the time all of the normal pizza crap goes on it is a heart attack special.

I thought that the pizza pie ,as it started off as, was invented it Italy .....no it was the fat yanks that started trend.

Well I never, some people eat to live, others live to eat. I might now, choose both.

Good onya matey :)

and ya know wot? I am not sure anything makes a bit of difference when push comes to shove as my Mum lived on chocolate and bikkies all her life and lived to old age and Peters Mum flew off into the wide blue yonder at 99 and would have lived longer if not for her Power of Attorney not wanting her to and she just ate whatever she fancied.

I think I will just eat Ice Cream and as such because we spent over $2,000 on our U-beaut massage chair received a $125 gift voucher from TVSN to spend so we are getting an ice cream/treat maker worth $249 now on special for just $149 so ice cream here I come :) :) :) with just a few extra dollars needed to be spent. Good hey?

ROF phyl....I hope you enjoy every bit of it. :)

 to Radish I will.

BTW folks IF anyone seriously wants to make this pastry please be sure to use full fat Yoghurt as the skim milk one would just "not cut the mustard".
