Have a Meal with a Muslim

I came accross this and thought, what a great idea.
I don't know any Muslims but shall keep my eyes open...

If you are a Muslim and someone taps on the shoulder.. it might be me...

I would have no problem with that either

What a great idea - that's what it's all about - understanding. We don't have to agree, just respect that we're not all the same and we don't necessarily have the same beliefs. So much harm has been caused by those intractable people who believe they are right, therefore anyone who doesn't agree with them must be wrong, and religion along with politics, is way up there in that respect.

I think it is always good to have an unterstanding of others views and beliefs

You might not agree but if you understand and respect then we would not be fighting each other.

I think it is a great idea.

I have helped out some Muslim families & consequently have been invited

to lunch & dinner on a few occasions. Apart from the very obvious cultural

differences, I have found them to be lovely & hospitable people. They don't

seem to have much of a problem having a Western Christian in their homes.

This is a great initiative and I commend it to all who feel comfortable doing it. One of the big problems we have is simple communication......whether it be with Muslims, Buddhists, Hindu's etc. They are all people just like us and have their beliefs and culture which they are usually proud to share and discuss.

The "brain-dead" element in our society will always stare, point and giggle at anyone they perceive as being "different" and we need to welcome these migrants (new or old) and show them that they really are welcome here. A little understanding and mutual respect will go a long way toward cultural integration.

We don't have any here--but have noticed a few not many Somalians

this is a positive and inspiring idea. it could make quite a difference.

i have met some lovely middle eastern people through my love of their traditional dance, music and cuisine. it is such a beautiful culture. as i am an athiest, i have no interest in their (or anyone's) religion, but can easily communicate and get to know people through the other activities i mentioned.

of course, there are also middle eastern people who are athiest.

Has anyone noticed that we all agree (for a change)

:)

fwed, do you think we are growing younger as we get older???
