Gridlock on the Roads

For those who advocate a larger population in australia, think about this.....

A traffic jam is entering its eleventh day in China. The motorway, part of the Beijing to Tibet expressway, resembles a giant car park – and has done so for the past 10 days. A combination of road works and the huge volume of coal trucks that daily rumble along this main route is said to have caused the problem.

Can you imagine being stuck on a motorway for eleven days???

Good for you posting elderwoman as many never post.

Congratulations to Koko and some others who

once upon a time when I first arrived here, went beserk when

anyone put wrong topics in forums. Maybe commonsense

has prevailed and Koko has mellowed a bit and a good thing.

I think Politics can take over and cause far too many arguments

so maybe Koko and others realise there is life after the Liberal

Party lose the election .

I think the only way to travel there would be in a camper van - fridge, stove, groceries, bed and laptop to keep in touch with the Meeting Place.

Now Yaretzi, you should not pick on koko.

She is one of the very few lib voters who does not hand out insults.

Unlike another whom I will not name, she does not say Labor voters are dumb.

She like the rest of us has her say about what she believes in.

End of sermon (before the sermon police arrive)

:)

I think this is posted on the wrong thread. It is more like something that should have been posted on General Discussion.

I could not find the smilies so here are mine.

..........................

I sure do not wish to cause any angst or criticize at all but just

cannot help but just say how "down on Phyl." a couple

were because I inadvertantly put a wrong post in Hot Topics instead

of Discussions once.

I could not care less myself as it does not take a Rhodes Scholar to

get back on topic with just another post surely.

Who really cares? yes I know a couple who do......... and caused a whoo har

about it.

Welcome to the forum elderwoman.....

TOILET fwed, you didnt mention toilet....... can you imagine what those cars or at least the roadside shoulders would SMELL like after eleven days?

A new tunnel opened recently in Brisbane and one outlet side opens onto a free (toll) way which is chock-a-block, with traffic, especially at peak times, so vehicles are stuck in the tunnel for a while. Some of the engineers were advised of the problem, but the push was to finish on time, within budget........ I agree with fwed............

......Gizmo

And in case I haven't done it yet ,welcome elderwoman

Well Elderwoman you wont have to wait all that long IF the Greens have their way and fling open our doors to all who want to live here, especially along the eastern coast where I hear of terrible traffic jams now and shortage of affordable housing.

Yes Elderwoman - welcome and in the right thread heading as this is a political topic right here.

Population numbers and China leads the way numbers!

Just ignore the rumblings as we used to get all sorts of silly posts in the Hot Topics so Admin gave us Political and all of those who said hate politics cannot resist popping in here too. But of course we are in the midst of the longest election outcome to date in my time here.

Due of course to the tweaking by Labor in the past and consensus by Liberals who could see less work on all of their behalves to get elected. Imagine having to actually ask each and every one of us to vote for them - take too much of their time and bite into the travel overseas on those junkets oops learning tours. Of course I refer to old way of first past the post wins the seat as it still is in Westminster and their hung parliament was sorted in under 2 days and ours well Sept 3th isn't it for last postals?

Yep we have already got far too much traffic our the roads of our cities. When we lived in Sydney we were in Chatswood lastly which was not bad but rellies moved out to Penrith and had a long drive and traffic jams back then in the 70's and worse today I bet.

Still may have popped our clogs before it gets as bad as China because for sure we are in for a rough trot any which way with Power Prices, Water Prices all rising sharply which means Food Prices and of course the old Petrol Prices and hopefully we will have a decent government who can manage the economy and our money but they will have a heap of debts and a deficit to clear up and it took them 6 years last time Labor got kicked out of office.

did I read someone say some here thought some were dumb?
