Greatest classic rock songs of all time

Classic rock comprises the very best rock songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Not only is the music of this era some of the best ever made, but it's also spanned generations to remain relevant today. No matter if you are 18 or 80, it's hard not to sing along when Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones or The Beatles are on the radio.

I've listed below the top 10 classic rock songs of all time, decided by user voting in an online poll. A few songs were unlucky to miss the list. From Don McLean's American Pie to Queen's We Will Rock You, there are probably 50 songs that you could have considered for the list. Have a listen and then share below your favourite classic rock songs and what they mean to you.

Listed below in no particular order are the top 10 classic rock songs.

Eagle Rock

Jesse James by Tina Turner

Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall. A favourite album and great video. Saw their concert in 2012 and was blown away!

"96 Tears" by Question Mark & The Mysterians. A Golden Gasser and Blast From the Past from the land of Oobladi and Mellow Jello. Bye, bye, buy Bonds, save chicken fat, and enjoy the wax!

I believe The Kinks "You Really Got Me" and/or "Lola" should be included in this list of Classic Rock songs.

What about Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club band?

N0 list of the greatest  numbers could possibly be c0mplete without Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone"

What a load of rubbish. Who chose those 10 songs?

What about the 50's & 60's? Nothing better.

Guns & Roses November Rain

Cant remember the name of the group but I come from aland down under

Men at work.

Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones

Rock & roll was created in the 50's & not a single record from the originals made it!!!  A bit like writing the history of Christianity & not mentioning Jesus Christ.  Bill Haley created R & R with Rock around the Clock.  8 weeks in number 1 spot & total sales of 25 million copies.  Elvis occupied the number 1 spot for more week in the 50's alone than all the voted songs held number 1 spot put together.  Jailhouse Rock was in number 1 spot for 7 weeks alone. Hasn't anybody heard of Chuck Berry, Little Richard & Jerry Lee Lewis?  Just been looking at some records & was amazed that Elvis held the UK number one spot for 80 weeks of the total 260 odd weeks in the 50's following the release of his first R&R song.
