Good news and bad for lolly lovers

First the good news.

If you love these soft drinks, then you’ll probably love this new line of lollies that are about to hit the supermarkets.

Allen's is launching a range of bottle-shaped gummy lollies based on three popular Kirks soft drinks: Lemonade, Creaming Soda and Pasito.

Why?

Joyce Tan, head of marketing confectionery at Nestlé Australia, says: “So many Aussies share moments of Kirks soda flavours and Allen's lollies at their social celebrations – and now we've brought these icons together for the ultimate classic party combo.”

And the bad news?

Starbursts, a cult favourite in many households, have disappeared. Confectionery giant Mars Wrigley has revealed the brand was discontinued in Australia in June.

A Mars Wrigley spokesperson said the “difficult decision” to axe the brand, best-known for its fruit-flavoured chews, was down to supply chain issues and cost pressures.

Have you noticed any other treats or products that have disappeared because of ‘supply chain issues and cost pressures’?
