Good idea to check you Aerial.
We were eating brekky yesterday morn. when there was an almighty crash so outside in our p'j's and the very high antenna (this area needs a high pole for the aerial because of being in a Valley)
had all come toppling down onto the roof. We were lucky to get someone to come fix it but we had to buy a new aerial because it was very bent.
The thing was, the guy wire had rusted on one support so everything then went - thank goodness because of the other three guys holding, did not come toppling to the ground and cause much more than just a capping tile. It will be worth anyone's while checking for rust as we did not think of it. Cost over $200 but not bad.
It must be difficult for older folk or any folk not to have a nest egg as there is always something
A few months ago our fridge stopped and an unexpected $150 to fix it.
We bought $310 worth of Wet and Forget to spray on the roof one day when Peter decides to, or I prevent him from doing and we get a handy man to do it. It just gets sprayed onto the tiles and left for a day and when it rains all the Lichen goes (that's the theory) We do not have a lot jjst on one side.
Phyl.
Keep us posted on that wet and forget stuff Phyl - I've been thinking of using it on the southern side of my house - along the path that goes to the clothesline, but wondered how it would work. Until now, I've been taking out the high pressure water thingie, but I'm getting a bit past that now. Be good if that stuff does work, as long as it won't harm my dog's feet.
