Fraser quits Liberal Party
KERRY O'BRIEN: You've revealed that you came close to resigning from the party at one point. Tammy says she didn't vote for the Liberals at the last three elections and you've refused to say whether you did the same.

There's a certain implication in your refusal. What has been the personal cost of that conflict within you, the emotional cost?

MALCOLM FRASER, FORMER LIBERAL PRIME MINISTER: The emotional cost is seeing the party move further and further to the right. You know when is this going to stop? Where is it going to stop?
It does not look good when a former Prime Minister quits his party citing the reason as extremism.

Couldn't agree more. Fraser mentally resigned from the Libs years ago. The resignation now is just a formality.

I don't see that it's a bad look at all. People change their ideas. In his case it's been obvious for a long time where his loyalties are.

Brendan Nelson either belonged to the ALP or certainly at one stage supported them.

Malcolm Turnbull openly admitted he'd considered joining the ALP.

In Fraser's case, he's just taken a lot longer to come out with the truth.

His wife has said she did not vote Liberal in the last three elections. I think people would have had more respect for them both had they resigned years ago. Instead he's made a fool of himself.

Bad look for him..not the Libs.

Fraser's credibility went when he lost his trousers in the USA.

Fraser is the father of multiculturialism.

Carried on by Labor when Hawke won power in 1983.

I see that Goff Whitlam has gone into an "aged care" facility, perhaps his arch nemesis, Malcolm should also consider a "caring" accommodation environment?
