Forget Differences and Support Each Other

Volunteers from the Sikh Community in Melbourne based not-for-profit , has become almost synonymous with natural disaster support, this time travelling for close to 34 hours on Tuesday to reach the flood ravaged town of Lismore. They provided thousands with their famous Curries, and again earlier in the week, 45 Fijian Abattoir workers helped with the rescue of the elderly from nursing homes. They said they have experienced severe floods in Fiji, and felt obliged to lend a helping hand. Thanks to all these people and the volunteers that have worked relentlessly to save those poor people who have lost everything,

this group has built up a power of goodwill these past two years

Wonderful assistance from these two groups.

The Sikh volunteers are based at the Woolgoolga Sikh temple to deliver meals to Lismore, Grafton and Woodburn.

Forty-five Fijian workers employed in abattoirs at Casino and Booyong arrived in the Lismore region earlier this month, but for the past few days, they have been helping the community during boat rescues and providing assistance in an evacuation centre by setting up beds and serving food.

Bloody terrific - it just restores your faith in human nature.

The Sikhs got there quicker than the army did

Great to see communities of all persuasions coming together to support others in need during these all to frequent natural disasters.

Especially as Slomo Scumo and his grubbynemt can't seem to organize a booze up in a brewery. As the Qld Premier said today when Slomo Scumo offered support. No thanks, you should of been offering that a week ago. To little to late.

The people have been amazing --once again -- Morrison missing in action once again,  I would also bet that he never had the COVID but just was trying to get out of his job ONCE AGAIN!

Morrison Circus has failed to impress Lismore, a town that has lost everything. The problem is that people had unrealistic expectations about what governments can do. The P.M. noted that people would always need to rely on their neighbours when catastrophe struck, as opposed to a functioning 000 zero service. Poor people couldn't even ring 000 emergency service.  Australia continues to export emissions that contribute to heating the rest of the World. While Morrison was acknowledging the reality of climate change in Lismore his Energy Minister Angus Taylor was out making the case for "A further expansion of Fossil Fuels." Is this government for real?????????

The Sikhs were quick to rally round when East Gippsland was devastated by the bushfires in 2020 as well. Wonderful people with great community spirit. And their food is pretty good too!!!

They have a heart of gold. I did read last year I think, about someone who had been injured and they were bleeding quite badly from their wound. Even though Sikhs are never to remove their head gear, this guy did so to stem the flow of blood. That guy should have had a medal, he put aside his religious beliefs and traditions to honour and help another human being.

Yep, hats off to the Sikhs, great people, great hearts and great food. A credit to Australia!
