Flexitarianism: Vegetarianism but fun!

It's not a bad idea – even eating half the meat you eat now will benefit you in the long run – but I'll let you decide ...

How much meat do you eat each week? Would you like to eat less meat?

I would be lucky to eat meat once a month

Big Ag has been making a motza for decades without caring for anything but profits.  This is the best way to help yourself, the environment and the animals.  Have a look at https://whyveg.com/

I eat meat almost every day, I love it, can't get enough, steak, chops, mince, beef, lamb, pork, I eat them all. Us meat eaters are helping vegetarians by eating the animals that are eating their food. BTW, vegetarian is derived from an old Aboriginal word meaning "poor hunter".

How nice for you to have a choice about what you eat but perhaps a tad selfish.  Farm animals don't have a choice about their miserable lives before being eaten at a young age and wildlife doesn't have a choice about their habitat being cleared to graze farm animals for wealthy first world countries to eat meat while millions of people in third world countries starve because they can't access the grains that are fed to "finish off" farm animals.  I have a choice too and I choose to eat cruelty free.

Nah, nah, nah OM -the term comes from vegetus, a Latin word meaning 'whole, sound, fresh, or lively', as in homo vegetus - a mentally and physically vigorous person.

Like me!!!

"A number of studies have shown that plants feel pain, and vegetables are picked and often eaten while still alive. Animal rights activists are often in the news, but has anyone ever protested for vegetable rights?"

A silly old chestnut that always gets dragged out.  Plants don't have a central nervous system.

I do enjoy a lamb chop or rump steak, and used to eat a lot of meat.  In recent years, I've found that I don't want meat as often as I used to.  I also love fish and most seafood, and find it lighter on the system.   Have always loved veggies and have them with most meals.

I could never go vegetarian.

Some researchers say plants can hear you eating them.

Some fight back though, good on them!

That is indeed very credible research Reagan, celery and parsnips are the noisiest ones. One can only imagine the trauma those poor plants experience.

I must say I admire those that are able to be Vegans --

Just try.  Think of the animals, think of your health or think of the environment and start by cutting back on meat, eggs and dairy - using the pre-made substitutes from the supermarkets is fine to transition or when you're in a hurry.  See whyveg.com for helpful advice and you'll never look back except to wonder why you didn't do it years ago.

It's not that hard to be vegan, or at least plant-based with maybe a little cheese.  We are plant based when our grandkids are here -four days a week - because they are vegan.  My husband is eating less meat now and we stopped buying dairy milk.  We find soy milk very acceptable in tea and coffee, as well as for cooking.  I think we can all cut down on animal products and it is good for our health too!

Love my T- Bone and Rib Eye

I am getting there I eat very little meat and use very little milk I do have and use eggs -- eat some mince about once a month
