I don't like it. I have nothing against the actress just Doctor shouldn't be female

My favourite was Tom Baker.

I like Jodie Whittaker. But, I do not want a female doctor. mysoginistic? Maybe. BUT, is this just pandering to PC? Not a good idea. I cannot get away from the idea that the doctor, for all the different regenerations, is essentially a character who is male. Nobody would expect to be presented with a King Cleopatrus, or a Winnie Churchill, or an Allan of Troy. These are characters, real or otherwise, who are defined by, and realised through, their gender. However, I will still watch the program to then decide. Writers and directors are not fools. Anticipation grows. Now, what about a companion? Iam, of course, available!

It's okay by me, but I am wondering whether Jodie is eccentric enough?   Let's wait and see. I confess that I am quite interested and will certainly watch it at least long enough to make up my own mind. Also, the storylines will quite possibly change too, as there will be a change of writer.

Yes,yes I love them all, but Matt smith is my favourite. I've only watched since Christopher eccleston, but will watch the earlier ones at sometime.

I couldn't care less. There's more important things to worry about, like: What are the Kadashian girls up to this week? Or how good does Nicole Kidman look in a red swimsuit at age 50? Or ...............

Makes a refreshing change

This is a suprising, though not an unexpected twist to the Doctor Who Scheme of things. Why?  Well for starters, the "new Master " is now a " Missy " so why the blazes not a female Doctor for a distinct change. I keenly look forward to how Jodie Whittaker will develop the Character further.

I don't see or feel any reason in an age of gender equality why there shouldn't be.  I'm only quite saddened/disappointed that Pater Capaldi, after all the hype & fanfare when his inauguration to the role was announced wasn't given a decent run, similar to irrepressible Tom Baker's or David Tenant's tenure.  To me it seemed that Peter C was begining to seriously hit his straps in the role, then he suddenly exits stage left for whatever unknown reason. Whether he was pushed, dumped or early contract termination due to falling ratings is of course debatable.

One thing I really dislike however, is the enormous length of time it takes for any new series to reach Australia for broadcasting.  That is outrageously shoddy on the BBC's CV.  

But I've loved this iconic series from a very young age, so I will remain a faithful watcher regardless.

I can not really give an opinion as I have never ever watch th sjow at all,  don't even know what it is about.

I can still remember the first time I saw Doctor Who.  I was channel hopping and landed on an episode with Jon Pertwee after it had started.  He was driving his car that eventually left the road and flew.  My late husband and I watched it from then on for many, many years. 

I don't remember when I started to watch only sometimes, but I do remember why I did and why I eventually stopped completely -- the special effects started to outweigh the story and eventually took over.  I haven't watched it for years. 

Doctor Who is not the only program where this has happened, I feel.  Some of the decades-old movies and/or programs one can see on TV these days have better plots or storylines than current ones.
