Autumn gardening cartoon: tidying fallen leaves with a leaf blower ...

:) Good one Celia LOL.

Must admit I do use and like Searles products.

But you cannot get them in Bunnings.

The site gives a good calendar of the many areas within Australia for the various conditions of what to do this time of year.

Beautiful photos Celia.

No autumn displays up here .... I miss them.

That would be hard, I like the Seasons but even in Perth and north of Perth we don't really have much change in the seasons, it is usually warm or cold!

I was talking to my new GP last week she is from Hampshire UK, where I am from and she said that is one of the things she misses the most, the Seasons.

Spent a few hours in the garden today repotting and changing hanging baskets, pansies hopefully will give a splash of colour outside the bedroom in mid winter, it faces due north so it gets plenty of sunshine.

So colourful ... enjoy them Celia.

I love Pansies and Violas.  I have yet to get some lovely seedlings from Flower Power, they don't seem to have much variety these days, maybe because of Mother's Day, but I'll still be on the lookout. Also love Lobelia and Alyssum, all colours.

I was coming out of the shop with four punnets of Lobelia when I first met my husband!   We always have Lobelia in the garden, I love all the various shades of blue, not keen on the mauve though, and I like to plant the white Lobelia as it makes a great contrast to the varied coloured plants I think it shows the colours off to their best advantage.

Lovely.

Enjoy your weekend Celia ... pink flowers in my garden just snapped. Love them, so delicate.

Holding their own despite a jasmine invasion from next door.

Is that a variety of a Pandorea Bower Vine ???

A type of Mandevilla I think Suze. I have pink and white varieties.

https://www.aboutthegarden.com.au/mandevilla-large-flower-plant-climber/

I saw Pandorea vine for sale in Bunnings the other day

...it is one our native species,

whereas the Mandevilla is US specie.

Very pretty RnR

What is the plant please?  Mandevilla sander  [Brazilian Jasmine?]        with the pink flower.

Do you like Jasmine?   Image result for jasmine with a strong scent

We have a white Bougainvillea growing in the back garden and I have put a Pink Jasmine a meter away I am hoping they will grow into eachother, they both have the same temperament!  LOL

Both are doing very well at the moment I have they enjoy each other as they are both pretty.

Bougainvillea White Cascade

Yes, a type of Mandevilla Celia.

I love the smell of traditional jasmine but too intrusive for me. Takes over everything up here if not pruned rigorously and the runners seem to get everywhere.

Ah of course I think you live in Queensland RnR?

Pink Jasmine seems to have its boundaries here I have three plants in different areas of the back garden.

I love the fragrance and have it outside our bedroom also three Gardenia Bushes.

I was out raking up the leaves this afternoon and to my surprise just popping through the soil was Ornithogalum [bulbs].

I took some photos of the last seasons flowering and one of the photos I use on the screen here!  Love them, I have never cut them for  a vase though, but may do this year as they are spreading across the garden bed, which I love the idea of.

I am told they last a long time in a vase?

I think it is called Star of Bethlehem?

Have a safe and restful weekend RnR and happy gardening!

I wish this echo would stop, if I forget to remove it straight away I cannot get rid of it. It is a nuisance.

What beautiful blooms Celia.

:) You have a great weekend too.

Thanks RnR the are off the net, as I don't know how to place my own photos up on these Threads!

Any bright ideas please?

People over the back have a giant Passion Fruit Vine.

It keeps coming to visit and strangles our hanging baskets and orchids.

It isn't as if we have not mentioned this to them, have even cut it back and thrown the trimmings back to them.

Husband wants me to spray it with weed killer, but I am a bit apprehensive as they may eat the fruit.

Apart from talking to them again I am not sure what the answer is, any bright ideas please?

Gee, I would be grateful for a few wonderful passion fruit -- I just love them

Have been using for some years now a Liquid Potash when I put my seedlings into their new homes, I find this makes some lovely blooms, also if you need to cut back some old petunias in hanging baskets I give the old plants a drink of the same potash it sure brings the plants back to life and some great blooms!

I also give the tomato plants a feed of this mixture made by Manutec, but looking at the label it is made in China!

But apparently the company is Australian [SA] owned.  Think we need to look at more labels more closely in future.

Garden Tips: The science of petunia genetics | Tri-City Herald

Well I have to admit I have had a fresh vase of roses each week!  Saturday I trimmed them back again before the storm and collected some buds that have opened up in the vase, they look pretty and cheer the home up.   I have not spoken to them though!   The garden is soaking wet, the leaves are everywhere flying around from the deciduous trees next door and our own Chinese Tallow tree, but she only has small leaves, unlike the large guy next door the London Plain tree. But even he is looking a bit thin on top!                       The Pansies are bobbing up and down in the wind the poor little things but they always have a smile on their dial!   Happy little souls they are, cannot say that about my Lollipop Primulas I planted two weeks ago, the snails feasted on them.  So I scattered some ground coffee around the garden, of course the snails hate coffee and went to the high ground where I used my size 10 boot!  [smile]   The question now is do I risk planting more Lollipop Primula out when the skies are blue and the sun comes out again?
