Early Riser

Jeezo Phyl. you're at it early this morning, you've probably already been for your wee jog with Peter. I'm just up and it's just after 8am though I did have an hours insomnia through the night which is unusual for me.

Got a busy day with lots of posts to write before number two son arrives with wife and new baby. But first up I must have breakie - natural muesli and prunes then I'm off for my fast walk and I'll past your old house - takes me 55 minutes.
The house next door to the hexagon is up for sale I see.

Any other early risers out there.

Oh Hughie I was up at 5.30 a.m. and Peter went for his 40 min. walk and was home and we had eaten brekky. by the time you got up :)

I have had and still have Peter's heavy cold and have not braved the weather for 5 days like Peter did not when he had it.

We usually get up at 5.30 and get dressed and off we go walking.

I know you and Mrs. Hughie are very clever people and will still find out for me where Bill and Jean O'Farrell have gone from 72 Clarke St. and if they are o.k. as someone might just know?

I eat a packet of those pitted Aldi prunes every week. We also eat between us a kilo of walnuts out of the shells that is.

We love sleeping between our velvet sheets/blankets. I bought three sets. Feels so luxurious getting into beautiful velvet warm sheets instead of cold ones and whereas my hair was a bit dry because of the electric blanket it is fine again now we have stopped using it.

Be good but have fun today.

Holidaymakers are there at the present time during these the school holidays. I'll see if i can find out.

The dark chocolate I used to get at Aldi is not there now. They have one that's slightly cheaper but 50gms less and I finished it in two days. So I'm not buying that again it's just to nice and tempting to last a fortnight like the other.

We had a couple of frozen chicken kiev's from there last night which were quiet nice - just over $5 she tells me.

Hughie down the Peninsula and going to have a busy day. ;-)

I know what you mean about your choc. Hughie. Have you both noticed one of the low cal. ice creams (in the 2litre tub) has disappeared also? Just one choice now? and they started selling chopped frozen onion and was I thrilled? oh yes very! but not for long as it has gone again :(

Aldi has made a huge difference to our lives but lots of things I wish they sold and lots more I wish would stay instead of being there one week but gone soon after. Still love them of course.

have a great evening and stay warm. Freezing here in the Valley.

I have "bagged" Aldi in the past, while acknowledging their very reasonable pricing. I "bit the bullet" and shopped there today. While still disappointed at the limited range, I was able to buy most of my needs and the total bill was $76 whereas every time I shop at Woolies or Coles buying similar items, the bill is never less than $120 - $130. I walked about 50 paces to the local Coles and bought the things I couldnt get at Aldi for about $10, so I was very pleased that I was able to do my shopping without supporting the thieving major chainstores.

I'm usually up by 4.30am. I still don't shop at Aldi, I've tried it a couple of times now, don't know if our local one is small, but they never seem to have the things I want.

I haven't been able to get on this forum for the last 2 days--was it down for a time ?

We save heaps shopping at Aldi. True there are a few items you still have to buy at the other supermarkets and I agree it is annoying. But to save many $$$ a month just for two of us (how much must big families save). I suppose we save $100 every month shopping at Aldi.

The main reason we like them so much also is such a lot of the goods are Australian made (not all) but many...........Oh and I can talk to Hughie about what we buy and save money on and he underconstumbles as he is an avid Aldi person also :) The rice bubbles (no not Kellogs) but they do go Snap Crackle and Pop) and taste good and the corn flakes are really crunchy and the Muslei really great and toilet rolls/paper towel? big savings :)

Wish we had one here to give Coles and Woollies a bit of competion

All the face products are quite good and very cheap at Aldi. Also the disinfectant is good and very cheap along with the dish wash and their

cooking oil and oh just so much is much cheaper and often better than the other supermarkets but the good news is also:-

Coles and Woolworths are cheaper where there is an Aldi store.

All the best

p.s. probably will not get a lot of chat from Hughie while the new grand baby is visiting. :)

Got another three granddaughters coming down to the coast tomorrow - I'm sworn to help Mrs Hughie manage them. I'm good when I'm good, but when I'm bad ... Hughie

It was Jane and still lots of posts missing but I am sure they are doing their best and the company here is very nice :)

Phyl,.

You are very lucky Hughie. I would be over the moon to have a grandchild visit.
