How well I remember my first encounter with a microwave oven: MW proof dish (got that right) and added breakfast for two of sausages, bacon, (cracked) eggs and tomato.

Ended up with red water, rubber sausages, ceramic bacon and the eggs exploded, covering the interior of the oven. GF and self ate cereal instead, while the red cattle dog bitch, usually a guts, had one suspicious nip of a sausage then turned her nose up at her offerings to walk away disgusted.

Years later our daughter has a habit of nuking food by being too preoccupied to check the settings before hitting 'start'.  One of her best was substituting minutes for seconds to re-heat porridge.  Charred remains and house filled with dense smoke, smoke detectors blaring.  Flames in porridge?! She had disappeared for her shower (different floor) of course.
