Driving up fines
There’s one state that is not mucking around when it comes to seatbelt fines. The Queensland state government recently increased the maximum penalty for not wearing a seatbelt from $413 and three demerit points to a whopping $1078 and four demerit points. And if you have put your belt on, make sure you don’t speed as the fines have gone up to $1653 depending on how much over the limit you drive.
Buckle up and slow down in the Sunshine state everyone, or it could be an expensive ride.
It still won't stop some idiots from doing the wrong thing. However, some will think it is revenue raising.
