Do we need the "shock jocks" of the world?
I see that yet again, Kyle Sandilands has "gone ballistic" over some trivial criticism of him. He seems unable to cope mentally with any adverse or critical comments about him. He is one of a string of "shock jocks" that have emerged in recent years on these talent/lifestyle type programs.
To my mind, they are predominantly talentless bullies who dish out insults, offence and bullying tactics on people who are not in a position to retaliate in kind. Does our society really need such "bottom feeders" of the entertainment industry?
I applaud the actions of General Motors and the Good Guys in immediately withdrawing sponsorship of his program. If he (and his like) cant get the message any other way, maybe it needs to be delivered in a financial context.
I have never watched or listened to his show/s but reading his comment re Alison Stephenson where his comments included "Some fat slag on news.com.au has already branded it a disaster. You can tell by reading the article that she just hates us and has always hated us," he told listeners.
"What a fat bitter thing you are. You're deputy editor of an online thing. You've got a nothing job anyway. You're a piece of shit.
This low thing, Alison Stephenson, deputy editor of news.com.au online. You're supposed to be impartial, you little troll.
You're a bullshit artist, girl. You should be fired from your job. Your hair's very '90s. And your blouse. You haven't got that much titty to be having that low cut a blouse. Watch your mouth or I'll hunt you down."
Of course it is free speech, but nice to see the advertisers choose their freedom in withdrawing adverts from his "show"
