This year I switched my Home Contents Insurance to a cheaper Company, recentley installed two new Air Conditioners. They have told me they are not covered at all, as they are outside.

I am in a Village, so the owner has the Building Insurance, and I am sure they would not be interested in covering them!

I realise the large working part of the A/C's are outside however being on the ground floor, the rest of the thing is inside my rooms.

Does anyone know of an Insurance Company that includes them in your Contents Policy.???

Where do you live?

The RACV in Victoria cover them ..........I had one catch fire and it was replaced

My air conditioners have inside and outside parts. I thought all a/c's did.

Maybe cheaper insurance is not good insurance.

Seggie. That's awful for you. I've never heard of such a thing. I'd quickly switch to a reputable insurance company. The aircons. here are both inside and outside. If I were you, I'd immediately make an appointment to see whoever runs this village and take a list of questions. Don't leave his/her room until you have truthful answers.  If you are told that your aircons. aren't covered, please try to change your insurance company.  I wish you all the best.

Seggie. Oops, sorry. Pressed 'reply' twice. Naughty Seggie.

I live in Qld, the insurers are the "little red car"

I know I would have no joy whatsoever with the owners of the Village, about seven years ago I applied to have a water tank installed next to my unit, to save water, as I keep the gardens well around my section of the Village - we only have one small tank, in the whole village also.

I was told I would have to pay for the entire thing, including the cement stand etc., which means when I fly off into the sky, its the owners !!

So I just thought asking here for the information, may save me contacting every Insurance Company.
