Dear Mr. Swan

Dear Mr..Swan,

Please find below our suggestion for fixing Australia's economy.

Instead of giving billions of dollars to banks that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned
bonuses, use the following plan.

You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 10 million people over 50 in the work force.

Pay them $1 million each severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Ten million job openings -

Unemployment fixed!

2) They MUST buy a new Australian made car. Ten million cars ordered -

Car Industry fixed!

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage -

Housing Crisis fixed!

4) They MUST send their kids to school/TAFE/university -

Crime rate fixed!

5) They MUST buy $100 WORTH of alcohol/tobacco a week .....and

There's your money back in duty/tax etc!

6) Instead of stuffing around with the carbon emissions trading scheme that makes us pay
for the major polluters, tell the greedy bastards to reduce their pollutions emissions by 75%
within 5 years or we shut them down.

It can't get any easier than that!

P.S.. If more money is needed, have all members of parliament pay back their falsely claimed
expenses and second home allowances!

If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know! If not, please disregard.

Yours sincerely,

The People of Australia

Now that makes sense, thanks clay :)

hi clay,if only everything was that simple, but we can dream,eh,you and everyone on here have a safe nd prosperous new year,

cant get that as retired 19 years ago but have a bought a lottery ticket for Saturdays 30 million, isnt that a ridiculous amount, much better if they made it 30 prizes of 1 million. Anyway heres hoping for at least a win of my money back Lol

I have some tickets in that too, I usually get some of the store syndicates, share the winnings if the numbers come up.

I won about $600 last year doing that so hope for a repeat this year but won't be telling centerlink unless I win the big one :)

Do you have to tell them if you win something? I thought you didn't have to declare winnings.

Don't know as I have never won much, still I suppose they need all the money they can get now, what with all the retirees breaking the bank.

dont think you would have to tell them if a large amount appeared in your bank account, they have ways of knowing !! I am sure. Dont you love that questionaire that you get every year asking things like have you passed any money on or sold any household items , would they ask where the cash has gone if you answered yes??

Isn't it wonderful that we have this degrading questionaire to answer for our measly amount while the polies can spend up big on expenses.

I mean lets face it, are they really worth that much, especially their retirement package.

a succint answer to that question Lolih is no theyre not worth half of what they get and as for their retirement payouts and perks its disgusting. They expect us to tighten out belts while theyre having their clothes let out and no holes for expansion on their belts

You don't have to pay anything on a large amount if you won--but do do on any interest earned on it--not that I have ever won --because I never buy a ticket
