Clothes Stains

If you get a stain on clothing and can't wash it straight away, spray the stain with hairspray then wash it later. This seems to hold the stain in limbo until washed. I went to the hairdressers years ago and the cloak she used had hair dye on it and it stained my blouse. She sprayed it and said to wash it when i got home, and and it worked.

Thank you for that hint Mausey. I wonder would it work for leaking pen stains.

Our little Maltipoo chews every pen she can get her paws on, so many white shirts of mine get biro marks on them, so I will quickly grab the hairspray.

Hi Phyl great to see you back -- -- you never turned up to decorate my home   ; )))

I wish you and yours all the very best for the New Year too

Hiya Plan B.

I thought you might shoot me with my big trailor of decorations lol.

Hope you have a really good, and intersting 2018 too Plan B.

How is your car going - hasn't the time gone fast since you bought it, and still using that expensive but U-beaut perfume you choose. I still send to Western Aus. for my Boronia which I love so much.

Hope Mausey is o.k. with me going off topic.

Will send you a PM Phyl so as not to upset  the poster Mausey

found this hint,  and it works,     when you open a tin/jar of tomato paste,    if you dont use it all,   cover the remainder with a few drops of oil,  will stop the paste going off,

Another handy hint thanks Cats.

I also turn the jars and bottles upside down once opened.

Thanks Mausey ... will definitely give the hair spray a go.

Read a hint online....crackyour eggs into an ice cube tray and freeze and use when you need them.

How long do frozen eggs last ?

Are Eggs Still Safe After the Expiration Date?

Question: I have some eggs in the refrigerator that I’d like to use, but the date on the carton was a week ago. Are they still safe to eat?

Answer: Yes, your eggs should be fine, provided you’ve been storing them properly.

As the American Egg Board notes, the dates you see on egg cartons are not food safety dates. They are most commonly used as a guide for stores to know how long they can sell the eggs.

Raw eggs will maintain their best quality for about 3 weeks after the "sell by", "use by", "best by", or "expiration" date on the carton, assuming continuous refrigeration.

Most cartons must also have a so-called Julian date stamped on the side, which indicates the date the eggs were packed. They will still be perfectly safe to use for at least 4 to 5 weeks after that date, provided they've been properly refrigerated and are not cracked or otherwise damaged.
If you want to store your eggs for longer than five weeks, your best bet is to freeze them, following the instructions outlined here.

As the American Egg Board notes, fresh eggs will generally freeze well for up to a year. For best results, you’ll need to do a little prep work before freezing whole eggs.  First, always remove them from their shells — when a raw egg freezes, its contents could expand and cause the shell to break. Once you’ve cracked open the eggs, pierce the yolks, mix them to blend with the whites, and then add in either of the following: (1) one-half teaspoon of salt for every cup of raw eggs, if you’re planning to use the eggs for savory or main dishes; or (2) one tablespoon of sugar for each cup of eggs, if you’ll be using them for baking or desserts. The salt and sugar both work to prevent the eggs’ yolks from becoming too gelatinous once frozen.Place the egg mixture in covered airtight containers or heavy-duty freezer bags and they’ll be ready for your freezer.

Thanks for that Sandi :)

I do not like the idea of adding salt or sugar to them though  Related image
