Christmas Holiday

I'll be going on holiday this Christmas. Not anywhere exotic, just to my son's home. He's coming to get me - a five or six hour drive, then after, he'll bring me back home. We tried this 2 years ago, but I travelled by bus. A really horrific journey on the Pacific Highway, with deviations to other towns along the way. The bus ran several hours late, because it had a set course. With my son, we'll be able to go a little off course to avoid most problems, if need be. I have to place my dog in board - that's a bit of a shock to the system - $22 per day to board the little beastie. That's the cheapest I can get - some places up their fees to $40 or $50 per day during the Christmas break. I'm looking forward to the holiday - don't have to cook for myself and I'll have the company of my family. Really something to look forward to.

I hope you will have a wonderful time!

I would take care of your little beastie if I lived closer to you. I usually take care of my neighbour's dog if they have to go away and we have a lovely time. Don't you have some nice neighbours who would care for the little one? :)

I don't mind placing her in board - I know she's safe and unable to dig out if she's feeling lonely. I volunteered where she is going to board, and I know they care for the boarders very well.

Great fun anticipating the drive with your son Bev. and the holiday with the family.

The $100 or thereabouts is just the cost of one night at a motel if you drove yourself and

felt the need to have a rest it will cost for your good friend :) and knowing she is well cared for with no surprises is money well spent I would think.

I am sure you and your family have thought of her having the back seat of your son's car and going too but that is not always the option suits everyone is it.....A safe place for her is the go and you enjoying your break. No worries as you said she would try and get out of her own yard

so the stress for you and her eliminated for a resonable price. Fun packing hey? Funnily I love this part of any trip. I am a bad traveller so we do not travel :) but it suits us.... albeit to see family it has to be a good thing.

Phyl.

thats good news Bev hope you have a great time with family,

I haven't decided where to spend chrismas yet, will have my sister from UK here , so will decide then

cheers

My son's home is a " no go" zone, as far as animals are concerned, and they worried that if I brought her along, she would be very upset at not being able to be with me, while she was so close to me. She'll be fine in board. As for the trip, I'm not a very good traveller myself, but my son understands that, and will stop whenever I ask him to. For me to do the trip myself would take at least two days, and a whole lot more expense. Working out well. Really excited, and looking forward to the holiday I will have.
