China travel notes

My husband and I have just spent 2 months travelling independently in China, our 4th trip since the mid 1980´s.. There are 2 things worth knowing when planning your travel.

1. There is normally no access to Facebook, nor YouTube-the Chinese government blocks access to both these sites.

2. Admission prices to most tourist sites and museums are usually quite expensive, but most places have half price for people 65 and over, and free entry for people 70 or over. The special price for old people is normally only notified in Chinese, so you need to ask for it, and show your passport as proof of age-it can often make a saving of up to AS10 on a ticket.

You never stop learning Zedi. I visit China quite often & have spent a lot

of money getting into the various tourist sites & have never been told of

the free tickets. Thank you. I will be back in Shenzhen & Shanghai in

the next 2 or 3 weeks.
