CANCEL FOXTEL

I have Foxtel fitted & I also have a Telstra land line. Yesterday I fell over a promotion that gives some special deals for new customers amongst which is free fitting of free equipment + 1 month free + I think, 40 free local calls/ month. I phoned Telstra & Foxtel to see what the loyal, existing, customers received. I was advised that the deal was only for new customers, not existing, regardless of how long. I was also advised that even if I was a new customer, I would only be offered a choice of the offer or the Seniors discount. That annoyed me, to the extent that I cancelled my Foxtel, on the spot. I want to make a powerfull point here. I have a few Telstra shares & will be attending the Telstra, annual Investors meeting on Thursday this week. My point, which I have harped on here, on numerous occasions, is that if only 10,000 of you fellow seniors were to give me the right to represent you at this meeting, with the threat of disconnecting Foxtel collectively, WE WOULD GET THE DEAL!!! Now just imagine if half the seniors in Australia, around 2 million, of which, probably 300,000, have Foxtel, were to give me that authority. I believe that our Mexican friend Sol, would be kissing our collective ass.s.

innes, I have Foxtel and I have a Telstra land line. Fortunately when I started off with Foxtel for the benefit of my late husband about nine years ago I used to get a printed statement. Then I changed to a direct debit and fortunately I have NEVER paid through Telstra, quite frankly I would rather get rid of Telstra than Foxtel as I have been having trouble with Telstra ever since I turned 60 and sent them a copy of my seniors card and my pension concession card (I only get that not a pension though). I agree that long term customers of Foxtel should get some sort of benefits and periodically I write to them and suggest they look at some sort of bonus scheme for long term customers and/or seniors and pensioners (remember not every senior is a pensioner). I do find though that often when I have written or phoned about suggestions for shows to be put on (you know some of the old western series etc) or if I have just made a compliment or talked about how long I have had Foxtel, the good service I have had etc, they actually give me discount off of a months bill or a special deal on a package for a short period of time. I think if people just wrote or phoned Foxtel on a regular basis , say once every couple of months then they may do something about their loyal customers. It can not do any harm and it may bring the realisation to the management just how many long term members they have.Remember a single voice is a whisper while a lot of single voices together make one hell of a shout!
