‘Bored’ Tomic may lose prize money
Australian Bernard Tomic is facing the prospect of losing a portion of his prize money after his limp Wimbledon exit overnight.
After the match the 24-year-old admitted to being ‘bored’ with tennis but denied he deliberately quit in the 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 loss to No.27 seed Mischa Zverev.
“I felt a little bit bored, to be completely honest with you. It’s tough, you know,” Tomic said after the match.
“I couldn’t care less if I make a fourth-round US Open or I lose first round. To me, everything is the same.”
Wimbledon officials said they were aware of Tomic’s comments and his performance and they were investigating the matter.
Tomic’s defeat was one of three more for Australian men on the second day as Thanasi Kokkinakis went down 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4 to the No29 seed, Juan Martín Del Potro, and Jordan Thompson lost 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 (4) to the No25 seed, Albert Ramos-Vi?olas.

I think he should take a permanent break. He contributes nothing to the game and brings Australian tennis into disrepute. He seriously needs some intensive psychotherapy.
