Big Brother alive and well.

Not content to merely dictate what we can or cannot view on the internet, the Govt now wants to look at our viewing habits.
THE Federal Government is considering forcing internet providers like Telstra and Optus to keep records of what their customers do online.

The records could include people's web browsing history and emails and be held for several years, according to technology website ZDNet.

Well not surprised this lot is pure communistic in its ways and Big Brother is here if they get re-elected watch out no stopping them then will think they have a mandate to lock up anyone who disagrees with them - 3 am knock on the door in the night will be the norm.

Hail Hitler Hail Stalin Hail Rudd.

Yep Val heading that way

This would be an invasion of privacy.

They might as well listen in on our phone calls and read our mail. This is going too far IMHO.

Do you think they already don't if they have a reason--they sure have the ability

"listen in on our phone calls and read our mail", closer to the truth than anyone realises.

And with all the speculation on leadership and the miner's tax, this gets buried where not many read , unless an IT nerd or such.

Internet freedom in 2010 looks like 1984

Yes Koko--there is quite a lot of these predictions on the net and have been for years--it is all to do with the NWO and no matter what side gets in they all have the same agenda. When I 1st started to read all these predictions I thought it was far too way out to believe but it is all falling into place and happening now at a very quick pace.

It is the Rudd Labor government Plan B - not Tony Abbott asneither he nor his party are into peering into your internet activities or limiting free speech as he is part of a right of centre party called Liberals and yes they do have a few lefties in the party unfortunately as we have seen when they crossed the floor to vote for the ETS and when they crossed the floor to vote for boat people over citizens and refugees waiting in camps.

Right wing parties have no need of taking any interest into the activities of their citizens other than of course those that attract the attention of the Police.

Rudd's government does not like it that we have access to the internet where we can read how they are lying through their teeth to gain office and keep it at any cost to the public as long as they have power.

So sorry but if you don't want to limit your freedom to surf the net don't vote Labor and don't vote Greens as this is a Labor preference party and either cross off your name or vote for a candidate who is not preferencing Labor.

Or be a freedom fighter and vote Coalition. After all we all did so much better under 12 years with them whatever you think about the actual personalities of the Leaders etc. It is the governance that counts!

Val it really doesn't matter if it is Lab or Lib as they are all told what to do by Big Brother--and the outcome will be the same down the track--the same as the Media are --we are told what they want us to know no more.
