Big Bang experiment in Switzerland 10th Sept
Are any of you aware of the the 6.4 billion dollar Particle Accelerator that has been built in Switzerland wih mostly USA, Russia and British money.
It goes live tomorrow 10th Sept and the scientists are attempting to replicate the Big Bang that created our universe. They are saying there is nothing to worry about but then there other scientist who are saying that if they do manage to replicate the Big Bang at the end of the month when they do the big test, then we my just all disappear in a puff of galatic debris.
Its interesting reading and begs the question, Should scientists be allowed to experiment like this with no imput from the larger community.

Yes we should be concerned - how do we know what effect these "experiments" will have on our environment, apart from the possible threat of blowing us all to smithereens. Why haven't we had the same sort of press coverage for this that we had previously when various countries were testing H bombs and the like? How many other "experiments" are being carried out that might affect our well-being ? I'm fairly certain that this sort information is fed to us on a "need to know" basis, and only taken up by the media on a slow news-day.
I will be even more concerned if no-one else responds to this post.
