I have been a carer for about 20 years, and yes it is hard. My husband lost the plot as an overload at work, and to give an example he would test the oil in the pan to check heat with his finger. He is banned from the kitchen now.
I would not ever put my husband in a nursing home, not with what is going on in them now. I would rather him at home and I will care for him or die trying.
