Bank Charges
Further to the note on bank fees in todays About Seniors, the ANZ Bank does not charge fees for customers that are over 55(?).
I have not had any fees on my accounts for years.

Westpac do not charge either ...........
Nor do NAB
But maybe some do not bother to get the type of account that has no fees for Seniors.
My advice to any seniors is if the bank hasn't offered information about a no fees account, ASK!!!
You have nothing to lose, and if your bank cannot provide you with a seniors fee free account, tell them you will take your business elsewhere.
I am sure they will oblige if they think they will lose your business.

Just changed from St George- (fee free but limited withdrawals), to a local credit union. No fees, increased interest rate and a greater number of withdrawals per month.
I have a deeming account and have as many withdrawals as I want and no fees at all
May I ask what bank you are with PlanB?
I am with the ANZ but many have deeming accounts--with deeming accounts the bank has to pay you the deeming rate that the Government deems you to be getting--
