I remember you Jane I think was going to see it?
Did not last long at the Cinema with this usually being a fairly good gauge of
a pic's. popularity.
Anyway in the comfort of our own loungeroom and on our New Beaut.
big screen tele. :) Mind you Peter will not be watching it
as Aussie Rules footy. is on, so in another room :(
Enjoy your Saturday night folks

Watched around 20 minutes was not impressed but now an hour into it it is picking

up and quite o.k.

Hey Phyl, I watched the footy, doggies beat St Kilda and big bad Barry kicked 7 goals.

I love my sport :)

Peter is slightly annoyed fwed. Just come back into this room after watching the footy

like you, and Barry Hall kicking the 7 goals (Peter is upset he did not do

that for the Swans before he retired (or did he)? :) but he gave a match away with the Swans with

the 3 x 50metre penalties because of his temper (I have to agree he takes a lot of

whatyamacallit and then loses his cool). Swans actually should have beaten St. Kilda

but for the 9 pointer which the Canadian playing for the Swans actually kicked but played on

instead of taking the mark. Did you see that one? He did not know or forgot or something about

that rule for the NAB Cup only.

I like Sport also fwed. but I did want to watch Australia (almost gave up and watched the footy after the

first 20 mins. but it improved and was passable) . They really bagged Nicole but I thought she was

quite good in it and - wink wink say no more when it comes to hunky Hugh lol.

All the best

Phyl.

I was going to see that Show Phyl--"Australia" at the movies--never did get around to it--but went to my Stepdaughters and she had it there in her library and after seeing it I was so glad I never paid to see it, I thought it one of the worst films I had seen.

I actually didnt mind the movie, but thought it far below the standard you would have expected after all the hype. To my mind it was very poorly named. I saw movies of books by James A.Mitchener like "Hawaii" and was expecting something that covered Australia's history.

This movie was about a few minor players during a very short period of our history (WW11) - it was just typical Hollywood entertainment with little substance or historical accuracy.

I am in total agreement kfc. When it first came out with all the hype

I was desperate to see it but as time went on and not good

reviews my enthusasium waned but was very happy to see it

was going to be on tele. last night.

I almost turned it off after the very ordinary start but sat a bit longer

and glad I saw it through as like you said it was not too bad.

Thought the name Australia innappropriate also.

I can well imagine people not Australian would wonder

What the? lol and cannot imagine they would really understand

it all that much, as I think albeit a lot of work went into the

opening of our Olympic Games a lot of other Countries would never

underconstumble :)

I was not enthralled in "Rabbit Proof Fence" either and waited a

long time to see that, but very disappointed.

Hope you are doing well kfc and your health o.k. but know you

have to watch what you eat. Just takes a bit more effort hey?

All the best

Phyl.

I found Australia watchable but disappointing considering the talented actors in it.
