Asylum boat lands 'undetected'
According to the Rudd Government, this is the moment the latest boatload of asylum seekers was "successfully intercepted" by Border Protection Command.

But authorities were nowhere to be seen when the boat with 55 people chugged unhindered into Christmas Island's Flying Fish Cove yesterday morning.

"They actually crashed the bow of the boat as it smashed into the jetty," one witness said.

But the Government tells it differently.
57 boats this year so far and this one got itself right up to the sign on for 89% of Newstart, then a house, a driving license and no worries for the rest of your days and bring in the extended family after 2 years and have kids galore at $5000 a pop.

And still Rudd maintains he has control of our borders? If ever there was a time to invade Aus by the back door its now under this weak PM.

How will the Ruddites explain this -- send a memo to Pauline Hanson OR John Howard??

Each boat person costs, on average, $82,000 just to process and the recent budget indicates that there’s been close to a billion dollar blow-out in costs in this area.

Someone was asking costs. The above is a direct quote from Tony Abbott in his SDT blog.

Note, the cost of $82,000 is just to process each individual.

Was that a carefully scripted comment or one of his "other" kind of remarks? %-P

. Perhaps we could ask Lindsay Tanner of Qand A fame,...when confronted by a member of the audience with taped comments proving he had said one thing then completely the opposite at a later date, denied it. Mr 'didn't have time t dot the i's and cross the t's'...

Maybe we should ask the 80 yo Holocaust durvivor, whose house was destroyed by fire yesterday...confirmed by the fire dpt, caused by faulty insulation, installed within the last 6 months...whether she minds that they didn't have time to 'dot the i's and cross the t's'.

*Or we could ask Kristina Kenneally who regretted remarks made in the heat of the moment.

*This one particularly notable for barely a word mentioned in criticism of Kenneally. Nary a word on this forum.

Oh no we can't have Ms K being upset can we. Our pinup Labor Premier.

Or we could even ask Mr. 'the greatest moral and economic challenge of our lifetime', next Sunday morning at his weekly press conference on the church steps.

Or maybe we could even ask the families of those people who have been lost at sea trying to get here lured by the softening of rudd's border 'protection'.

"Another boat, another policy failure" J Gillard, 2003

Do you people have a fear of people from other countries , especially refugees ?

All politicians are liars and cheats by the very nature of the job they do.........I am surprised that the self appointed "experts" in here seem to have lost sight of that, and with it, their sense of humour as well.

I often chuckle when people in here seem surprised or outraged when a pollie is caught out lying, cheating, doing a "backflip" etc., etc. What do you guys expect?........ I suppose you take the word of a used car salesman as "gospel" when he is trying to flog you a car?

Anyone who tries to argue the honesty and integrity of the Liberals over Labour (or vice versa) is, in my opinion, naive to the point of stupidity.

Does "you" encompass all Australians fwed, or are you only referring

to the participants on About Seniors? I presume from your question,

that you have no fear of any people from other Countries, especially

Refugees!!! Actually, if I interpret your meaning correctly, why do we

a refugee camp at Christmas Island, at all? Why do we foot the

enormous bill for detention centres at places like Villawood, etc.?

While we are at it, why do we have an Immigration Dept., at all & just

look at the cost of running Asio. Those midnight raids on terrorist cells

in every major City, in Australia are a terrible inconvenience on the terrorists.

Think of the time terrorists could save at the International Airports if they

didn't have to go through that ridiculous passport procedure. It is a well

known fact amongst the fweds of Australia, that the terrorists have no

interest in this Country. They are only interested in places like the USA,

France, Great Britain, Israel etc etc. The terrorists that we have jailed for

attempting suicide attacks in Australia were not actually serious. They

were actually, just having practice runs to get ready for the next Twin Towers.

Are you for real, or are you just having a lend of us?

Actually, if I interpret your meaning correctly

No, looks like you missed it and then carried on with a bit of fiction.

I take it from innes reply that a lot of members here do fear the refugees as according to innes they are terrorists or invaders as someone else said.

This whole debate is political without any thought for those who are escaping terrible conditions.

In 2009 Australia received applications from 1.6% of the worlds asylum seekers.

That was approximately one sixth of what France received.

How many of the ones who were successful went on to committ acts of terrorism on Australian soil ?

It sounds like you folks are having the same problem we have in the US. We always accept those that are refugees and those that come through the front door. But we always have millions that just jump over the fence, uninvited for any reason, and they just cost us billions over the years. Right now we have about 20 million living here. And some have been found to be terrorist and many hard criminals and drug pushers. When we try to stop them we get accused of racism. We really need to close our borders with military help if needed. But then we get in trouble with those bleeding heart folks.

Two weeks ago the President of Mexico came to the US and fussed at us for trying to deny HIS PEOPLE from coming to the US and working here. If they are HIS PEOPLE why are they in the US. At that point he should have been shown the door. Mexico does not let anyone just move into their country and work. You likely will be held in jail and then exported.

True refugees do come invited and we help them out. Those that jump the fence should just be sent back home.

.

I certainly don't perceive fear among the commenters.

However, speaking for myself...

what about all the people who have applied legally and are legally waiting their turn?

what about the 160 people who have drowned in trying to get here, since Rudd put out the welcome mat.

Rudd made a big deal about housing the homeless and the Aborigines.

Aged care is becoming increasingly important as the population ages.

The money that it is costing to process and house these people could be used toward helping our own.

People such as myself aren't heartless, but practical. Those boat people pass many other places where they could get safe harbour...but it's become obvious that the word has gone out....come to Australia, we'll put you up in better housing conditions than some of our own, who can't afford even govt housing.

We'll give you money, and a cell phone, and a computer.

There is something very out of balance now, fwed, and I think people really need to start to look at Rudd.

It has gone beyond even the joke of ....well here comes another boatload of Labor voters.

There are many other boat people arriving in Darwin almost daily. They are taken to places in WA. to be housed. We don't hear about them in the papers, but the people in Darwin know about them.

In other words there are many more than we're being told.

The numbers by percentage arriving here are far higher than anywhere else in the world according to a UN report which I posted here some time ago...which really proves the point sometimes made, that some people only remember headlines of the day.

I never even suggested that all refugees are terrorists. What I did intimate

was that virtually all terrorists in Australia are either immigrants or refugees.

There are 19 recognised terrorist organisations banned in Australia. All of

these have their membership & funding from immigrated fundamental

Islamic sources. The number of terrorism attacks, that have been foiled

by Asio are too many to mention on here. Are you suggesting that they

should only be counted if the were successful & the foiled ones don't count?

Take, for example Abdul Nacer Benbrika, an illegal who cost the Australia

taxpayers, a small fortune, on appeals, before marrying an Aust.,/Lebonese

girl & getting PR. His group were all immigrants except for 1 Aust., convert.

They were all arrested & most got jail sentences following their exposure

by Asio, planning & organising a major bombing of an AFL game, in

Melbourne, where they planned to kill more than 20,000 Australian men,

women & children.

Yes, many of these people ARE refugees. Most of them come directly from,

or through Sri Lanka & Indonesia, where they can legally apply to our

Embassy for a protection Visa.

Your question:- Do I fear some of these fake refugees? Yes! I DO !!!
