Are you sick and tired of all these action superhero movies? Stephen Spielberg says the superhero film fad will end soon …

In a recent interview famed director Stephen Spielberg says that all these over-the-top superhero movies will fade away and eventually “go the way of the Western.”

"I still feel that way. We were around when the Western died and there will be a time when the superhero movie goes the way of the Western. It doesn't mean there won't be another occasion where the Western comes back and the superhero movie someday returns."

Quentin Tarantino’s new film is a western called The Hateful Eight, so maybe, if we’re lucky, the western genre will see some sort of renaissance. One thing’s for sure – if I see another re-iteration of the Fantastic Four or any Avengers film that doesn’t involve a gentleman in a bowler hat and a spunky spy named Emma Peel, I might go all Incredible Hulk on my TV…

Are you sick of all these superhero films? Do you think Hollywood is just being lazy? What do you think of the film industry in general?

I have not watched a movie in a long time --never seen the äction hero ones ever --not my liking at all.   I think the last movie I went to see was  "The man who sued God"

There is a movie on TV next Saturday night --"A beautiful mind" I have been going to get it out as I have never seen one of Russell Crowe's films

I used to love the Sat.arvo matinee, all the kids yelling and screaming for Hopalong, the hero, to turn and see the villain behind him. the kids of today have missed all that,

I think my two eldest, were among the last to have had a taste before the change, such as tv in the late fifties. Now it's drugs, mayhem and bashings,

Hope you saw the Johnny Depp film of the Lone Ranger Seth that came out in the past few years, the kids loved it and it was a send up which had me really laughing. Brought back childhood memories of our Hero.

Yes Viv. they were the days b4 the war, The wife and I when we were about 12 use to go to the matinees together, can't say I took her as we both payed our 6d, money was a scarce commodity in those days.

I remember those well seth could do a lot with a Shilling in those days -- I went after the WW2

Seth, I hope you know that Hopalong Cassidy was not real.

Gerry that's not true.....he rode a horse and could use a gun....

Hopalong Cassidy not real? Soon you'll be saying Bugs Bunny's not real!

The film industry for kids died when Walt Disney died, bring back the disney movies.

I HATE THE ACTION MOVIES,      love a bit of gangster movie ,   and that one of JOHHNY DEPP in  the LONE RANGER   was fun,     dont like rpmance movies,    liked THE  WOLF OF WALL STREET,     THE GREAT  GATSBY,     both versions,,      was reading somewhere that an early version of THE GREAT GATSBY was made with  allen ladd,     couldnt imagine him in a movie like that somehow,
