Are you owed money from the Centrelink Robodebt?

Turns out the government is holding on to $112 million in compensation payments from the Robodebt fiasco.

While the vast majority of repayments have been made, the last tranche of payments to cover the interest people could have earned on the debt repayments is in some sort of holding pattern.

Services Australia announced the money would be distributed in March 2022, which was then pushed back to June and yet the funds still haven’t been paid.

The latest deadline is September 2022.

If you are eligible for the payment you would have received a letter in November 2021.

If you are owed money, maybe a call to your federal member is in order. After all, the government was pretty keen to take the money in the first place.

I've just received a demand from Centrelink for over $300, which I believe is bogus, it dated back to 2012-2016, who keeps records for that long and also it was suposedly an over payment because of my husbands work, here's the kicker he was retired and on the age pension then, through out that entire period. But you don't get any more proof of you owing the money you just get told to pay by a date. How are you soposed to get information when nobody nowdays is on the phone it is ALL automated and is useless and the people in Centrelink just make it so hard to have a conversation with anyone. I would really like to see those people work in the real world and see how people are meant to be treated. Where do you go to get answers ?
