And me SO careful was scammed out of $1 by a senior gentleman today lol

I was about to put my $2 refundable coin into the shopping trolly gizmo at Aldi when
as I thought a pleasant gentleman said "Take mine and give me your $2". So I did only to find when I went to get the $2 back end of my shopping I just got a token thingy which cost the man $1 :(
No wonder he was standing by the trolley waiting for a succor to come along but hey at Woolworths today for just 5c for a packet of 5 yes you heard it right 5 exercise books for 5c I bought 10 packets = 50 exercise books for 50c so I will not wish anything bad on the man made a $ out of me, but cheeky old bugger he was hey? He must do it a lot me thinks.
Today is I think the hottest day we have had this season.
All the best
Phyl.

Phyl, that story takes me back to my boyhood when "slugs" were a popular scam for kids......we used to get a suitable sized washer and put a piece of lead in the middle and slam it with a hammer to fill out the hole. The lead gave it extra weight and would "fool" most vending machines.

Alas, these days the machines have gotten smarter, so we have to stand around Aldi stores and "dud" sweet little old ladies like yourself :)

:ohh: aha kfchugo, so you're the reason we had to give the monster a swift kick to get anything out of it lol.

Phyl, we never stop learning :)

Phyl, a very interesting study in psychology 101 would make note that the criminal almost always returns to the scene of the crime!! It also tells you that the crooked mind is repetitive, therefore the nice old gentleman will be at Aldi again & again. Could I suggest that you visit Aldi more often, with Peter as your escort.

I know it's ridiculous but I always form a mental picture of people in my mind. I have my own pictures of you all in my head.

I can picture Phyl outside Aldi pushing her trolley (aren't they big) and this white haired old chap waiting for his prey. Actually I picture him as my next door neighbour as he is a notorious

con man.

Don't worry Phyl you would be quite safe with him - he's gay.Actually "gay" is a misnomer as he is the most miserable person, but a good neighbour as he never makes any noise.

I have no aversion whatsoever to Gay folk lolih at all, so I am sure I would get along with him.

I believe Gay people are Gods creation as are hetrosexual people.

It is funny how we get pics. of people in our mind. I am 60 kilos but have muscles lol

not timid or dainty but like to think well defined as I used to be into body building and still lift weights. I can actually pick Peter (much heavier than I am) up, but because my darn heart misses beats and has done for years I might add, my doc. says not to lift too much weight now darn it lol so keep it down to around 40k's but do not want to lose muscle tone albeit not as easy as we get older but achievable nonetheless.

Funnily one of my daughters won Miss Australia and Miss all over the place and out of Australia

including Japan and America body building contests and people would ask me what I thought of it and as I said "who do you think got all our five kids into keeping fit? and pushing themselves I ask" :) My grandkids are not in the same State as us or I would have them all lifting weights but their parents watch what they eat and they are into exercise regardless I am not there to nag. lol.

BTW when I married my cute husband many years ago now, I bought his Mum a pair of rather heavy dumbells and this lady refuses at 97 to have me buy her lighter ones as she is getting on a bit now, lol but still uses the heavy ones. good on her I say and she still lives on her own and does everything for herself and minds the two great grandkids after school and in the holidays. I believe it is working :)

Phyl.

:-/ Goodness Phyl what a lovely post. You should be very proud of yourself and your daughters.

I know I am not like people"s mental image as I sound young on the phone, but oh gosh, young and fit I am not.

I think you are so good to still do the fit bit, but sadly I can't , I am pretty good at elbow bending though! Lolih

Lolih as I started this post no worries a couple of members will rush in red faced stating "you went off topic" lol

I sit at the computer and try to keep my butt up rather than letting it squash and flatten too much and spreading and I breath into first one lung and the other and tummy breath and one great exercise is I keep my back away from the chair and lift my feet off the ground holding them there to try and strengthen the core muscles so although enjoying the computer working out a few times every now and again at least. We are all different in this life arn't we.

I still do a bit of yoga teaching, when a Mums club or group particularly keep asking, lol but just a few not like I used to.

You do sound young lolih and think you are pretty cute and fit.

All the best

Phyl. .

p.s. love Aldi's low fat vanilla ice cream very cheap and very nice. in the 4 litre tub.
