An offer too good to refuse …
The cast of iconic film The Godfather reunited at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on the weekend to reminisce about the making of the movie as it celebrates its 45th anniversary of release.
?Director ?Francis Ford Coppola, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, James Caan, Diane Keaton and Talia Shire shared the stage under a still image of the late Marlon Brando who portrayed the film’s title character – Don Vito Corleone.
Coppola told the festival he had to fight with the film studio for Al Pacino to play Michael Corleone in the movie, and was eventually rewarded when he was nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar for Godfather and best leading actor in Godfather II.
As well as the missing Brando, the reunion was also missing John Cazale, who played Fredo.
