Casting is now under way for an Australian version of the hit TV sitcom The Office. Originally a British production starring Ricky Gervais and Martin Freeman, the massively popular program was famously given an American makeover starring Steve Carrell and John Krasinski.

Now it seems an Australian production is in the works. There's no word yet on who will be filling the roles in the Aussie version, but rumours have included Isla Fisher and comedian Jim Jeffries.

An Australian version might seem strange, but Australia would actually be the thirteenth country to remake the show. Versions from France, Poland, Chile and Germany have all been made in the past.
