An Apple a day - worth the effort

The humble apple has large quantities of flavonoids, which help reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. Apples have also been shown to lower the risk of cancers — especially those of the prostate, lung and colon. Eating just two a week can even cut your chances of getting asthma by as much as 32 percent - but one or even two a day is better
than lots of other things we choose.
So many choices in apple varieties here in Australia we are very lucky.
Stay healthy.

You will probably think I'm joking Phyl but does it make any difference if the apple is peeled, because I dislike apple skin.

I remember my parents going on about most of the goodness being in the skin?

We humans are all different arn't we Tanwin and a good thing it is.

You know it is true great benefit eating the apple skin sorry.....BUT

if it means Tanwin eats a couple of apples a day with no skin

against no apples at all, well far better to eat the skinless apples :)

Some apples have nicer skin than others I am sure you have noticed.

btw always buy non waxed ones. If you cannot, takes a bit more washing

and wiping to get it off.

I personally like huge Granny Smith apples - the bigger ones seem to

taste just that much nicer to me anyway :) Happy munching

Phyl.

Hiya Phyl. and Tanwin and anyone else around, I could never keep slim enough

for my job if I did not munch on apples every day. I also cook

a Granny Smith and put just a tiny bit of dark brown sugar on it in the

microwave and a scoop of low fat ice cream, yummy. This makes a lunch or

dinner dessert but I also have an apple for brekky. or lunch.

Phyl. I am looking to you to give me a good exercise for my core please?

I am developing a bit of a pudge (very slight right now though

but want to get rid of it before it gets any worse). thanks.

You have mail Bri. ;-)

Hi Brianna just getting into the conversation, the Ball is a very good for finding your core. You can sit on it as you look at telly or continplate the world in your garden ,anywhere really. Not much chance of pulling muscles either. Goodluck

Hi Phyl.

I have some more good news about eating apples. I was reading an article the other day, that eating apples and drinking apple juice can assist in the prevention of Alzheimers. If you are interested in reading the article, the URL is http://www.crosswordsforfun.com.au/wordpress/?p=2186.

Hope you find it interesting!

Cheers,

David
