A White or a Sunny Christmas?

I have been watching the weather in Europe and America and can emphasise with their discomfort.
It reminds me of freezing Christmas times in England when I was growing up, and now I enjoy the lovely Aussie Christmas weather.
I changed our usual Christmas dinner routine to suit the Australian climate and now enjoy Christmas outdoors somewhere with the family and lots of good food etc.
I really prefer Australia and am happy with my decision to stay here, I guess nostalgia will always creep into life at certain times but modern technology means I can easily keep in touch with English rellies.

I was chatting with a friend on skype yesterday.

Her partner is in hospital due to the cold weather.

They hope to come to Aussie to settle soon.

I should not have, but I did tell her the temperature was in the mid 30's most days.

I think that did the trick :)

>:-( Going off topic a minute fwed what is skype? please, I am still finding my way around. Lolih

With skype you can make video call anywhere in the world via the internet.

You can see the person you are talking to and they can see you.

If you don't want video, then just chat as you would on the phone.

Best of all it is free, well all you pay for is your internet connection and usage in megabytes.

 thanks fwed

Also be aware that if you use a camera on Skype and don't have a lot of downloads the camera will use up A LOT of downloads--if you use just the mike it doesn't use as many--it sure is a great way of keeping in touch--you can also pay about $16 per month and ring a land line.
