5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake.

Saw this on another forum, and thought you might be interested. I haven't tried it, but there were some rave reviews.

5 minute chocolate mug cake

4 tablespoons self raising flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Small splash of vanilla extract and your favourite tipple (optional)

Add dry ingredients to your largest mug and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips if using, vanilla extract and a drop or two of your favourite tipple, then mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed. Allow to cool and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT! This can serve two if you want to feel slightly more virtuous. If you are feeling very naughty cover liberally in Bailey's Irish Cream.

Enjoy!

If you're looking for a quick chocolate cake then this is great.

I use a soup mug because a normal mug isn't big enough, I usually only add a few pieces of chocolate or none at all and it still works well.

If you grease the mug it will be much easier to remove. (learnt that lesson the first time)

The mixture does rise up but it settles down once cooking stops.

I find this is a good quick recipe when you need a pudding at short notice.

Straight out of the microwave, cut it into portions and top with some cream or custard..Yum..
